Fastest Overall Times

Athletes overall times are calculated from when the athlete departs Marble Arch, and the clock does not stop until they reach the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.  It is common that athletes have to wait in Dover due to bad whether.  This waiting time is included in their overall time.  You will see that those athletes with the longest rest after the run will have on average faster stage times and the slower overall times.  The questions will always be, "If he had less rest would he have completed the stages slower?"  Or, "Would she have swam across the channel at all if she had less rest?"  These are the factors that make the Enduroman Arch to Arc such a beautiful race.  For those that have completed the event, as they were cycling up the Champs-Elysées, they didn't care less about the finishing time.  For those whose goal was solely to break the world record, they have always failed.
