Located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, Hotel Calimera, Royal Monica, Playa Blanca, plays the prefect host for the Enduroman Double Lanzarote. 
The race centre / spectator area is located here and athletes will return here at the end of every bike / run lap. The swim stage will be held directly below the hotel. 

The Race Centre is open to competitors and spectators from 1500 Wednesday 2nd February 2011 for the pasta party. The registration and race brief are also here and are compulsory for all athletes. (see timetable of events)

ACCOMMODATION: 

Enduroman has reserved rooms at the Race Centre; Hotel Calimera Royal Monica Playa Blanca. The rooms can be booked directly by you from the accommodation link above.   Quote Enduroman when booking to receive a reduced rate for participants, families and support.

Enduroman are in talks with a tour operator in the hope to secure an event package which entails, Return Fights and transfers for your group and bike. (update soon)

DISTANCES:
Double Iron: Swim 4.8 Miles, Bike 224 Miles & Run 52 Miles
The course is in laps - 6 LAPS  BIKE – 6 LAPS   RUN - 31 LAPS     

EVENT CUT OFF TIME: 
Double Iron:
Swim 4 hours.  Bike 24hrs.  Total time 42 hours

PARTICIPATION:                                                                                                      Limited and the organisation reserve the right of entry.   

UNSUPPORTED ATHLETES & SUPPORT CREWS:

Although it is highly recommended that every athlete brings at least one support crew member, it is not a condition of entry.  Consideration should be given to bring 2 support crew members to allow one member to sleep while the other supports.

The Enduroman team and volunteers will do all they can to help unsupported athletes but are under no obligation to do so. Enduroman cannot supply a personal support crew to unsupported athletes. Athletes without a support crew member are required to inform Enduroman on entry if known and absolutely no later than the Wednesday evening February 2nd 2011.

CANCELLATION POLICY:                                     
If competitors wish to cancel their entry they will receive one of the sums below depending on when the cancellation is requested.

150 €: If you cancel before 1st August 2010
100 €: If you cancel between 1st August and 30th October 2010
   0 €: If you cancel after 30th October 2010

CATEGORIES:                                                                                                            Men's Individual, Women's Individual, Relay Men’s, Relay woman’s, Relay mixed.

PARTICIPANTS:                                                                                                        Must have a minimum age 21 years on day of event to participate.                       

PRIZE MONEY:                                                                                                               First Male overall:    300 Euros                                                                     First Lady overall:    300 Euros    

For prize money to be paid there must be at least 5 starters in that category        

AWARDS:                                                                                           Winning Team Trophies                                                                                 Finishing t-shirts and medals to all competitors.      

                 

SWIM STAGE:

The swim will start 10am and will be 6 laps of 1.3Km

The swim will take place on a 6-lap course, in the Atlantic Ocean, on the shores below Hotel Calimera in Playa Blanca Yaiza. Playa Blanca is situated in the south of Lanzarote and has the benefit of being sheltered from the prevailing N.E winds; this however does not guarantee a flat swim. 

 

CYCLE STAGE: 

The cycle stage is 6 laps of 60Km

The course is out and back from race centre in Playa Blanca with two complete loops around El Golfo. One lap clockwise the other anti clockwise. The route takes in some of Yaiza’s spectacular coastline and volcanoes.


RUN STAGE: 

The run stage is 31 laps of 2.73Km                             

     
The run stage is 31 times around a short course, with the main aid station and athlete support located at the race centre.

 TRANSITION AREA:

The transition area will be located in the race centre 150m from the swim start/finish. The transition area will have portable loos, change areas for male and female competitors, an event bag storage area and athlete support area. The athlete support area is open only once the event has started. 

MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE:                                                                                             A fully trained bike mechanic will be on-site to look after all your mechanical needs during the race.                    

  
MEDICAL COVER:                                                                                      Cruz Roja will be the main medical cover for the event.
Their staff, vehicles and equipment mean they can provide advanced life support and primary care in all environments.     

MASSAGE:                                                                                        Enduroman will be providing free sports massage for athletes during the bike and run stages.
