Enduroman Festival Of Triathlon UK - Event Rules:
Enduroman have now adopted its long standing rule that has been part
of the Enduroman Arch to Arc for many years.
Enduroman prides itself on the
relationship with our athletes. We organise races in a different
format to other organisers such as Ironman and ITU. As such, we
believe we provide a better quality of service and all-round
experience throughout our events. For that reason, please read and
digest the following:
"The Race Director has the
authority, at any time, to overrule any rule or invent a new rule
based on extenuating, unforeseen, and/or unusual circumstances
and/or to maintain the integrity and fair play necessary for the
successful completion, and continuation, of the race. The Race
Director has ultimate authority in regards to all rules, their
interpretation, and their enforcement. There is neither “appeals
committee” nor an "appeals process." All entrants in the race, and
their support crews, willingly acknowledge this fact, as well as all
other race rules, by attending the race in any capacity. In all
cases and circumstances, it is the intent, and spirit, of the rules
which will govern their implementation and enforcement".
Cancellation of Race:
If for what ever reason, Enduroman find it necessary to cancel this
race at any time before or during the competition, Enduroman will
automatically transfer you onto the identical race at the same
location in 2013. Enduroman will not refund any travel,
accommodation or any other expenses, nor will they refund any entry
fees paid.
Medical issues:
The athlete agrees that at the time of starting their chosen
race, they are are physically fit and of good health to attempt to
complete the distance of that chosen race.
Other issues:
Enduroman Ltd reserve the right to change the distances, disciplines
and routes of the event without notice to the athlete in the event
of adverse weather, road incidents or other similar incidents.
By agreeing to these terms and
conditions, you will agree to prepare sufficiently for this event.
This means swim training in cold water of temperatures under 19
degrees Celsius IN THE YEAR OF THIS RACE, cycling on the roads at
night (without the aid of street lights), and running on rough
terrain which includes uneven ground, tree routes and such like, all
on little to no sleep. For the Deca and Quin races, you will
be racing for between 15 and 22 hours each day, getting sometimes
less than 2 hours sleep each night. If you do not train for 20
hours,
sleep for 2 hours, then train for another 20 hours in your
preparation, then do NOT expect to do this for between 5 and 10 days
in duration.
Each athlete agrees that from the start of Day 1 of their
competition, to the completion of their final day, they will reside
only within the grounds of Avon Tyrrell. At no point shall athletes
reside in hotels or B&B's etc whilst their competition is in play.
This is a result of an athlete driving back to their hotel at the
end of a Deca day in 2011 and being involved in an accident.
Neither shall an athlete drive any vehicle during the above
competitive times. Any athlete found contravening these rules will
be disqualified from the race.
Support Crews
If you are competing in the Deca or Quintuple Enduroman races, then
you must have at least one support crew member, onsite at Avon
Tyrrell at all times while you are competing. This support
crew member will only support one athlete at a time. At all times
during the swim and the run, and when the cyclist returns to Avon
Tyrrell at the end of each lap, an Enduroman official may ask for
the whereabouts of your support crew. If they are not onsite
then you will be disqualified immediately. This rule is in
place for your safety only!
Course/Route
The course is clearly
marked. Athletes will stick to the marked course at all times, unless
directed to do so by a Marshal. Deviation from the marked area will
result in DQ.
Completion of the course may be with the assistance of:
-
Your support crew at allocated sites
-
The mechanics based at New Forest Cycles in the
village of Burley.
-
If your bike fails on the bike course you and your
bike must return by foot to Avon Tyrrell or New Forest before the
mechanics repair your bike. You must complete a lap or restart the
lap If
your bike is being repaired by the mechanics: The athlete accepts
the good condition of the cycle if he/she then takes control of it
and rides it.
-
Cyclists must always be in
possession of their mobile phones. Cyclists may phone
Enduroman on 07792 950192 to arrange recovery.
Successful athletes will complete the required distances. Organisers
reserve the right to shorten the courses based on inclement weather
conditions or to change the event into a Duathlon. In the case of the
event being stopped/cancelled part the way through, we will make a
decision based upon distances travelled and circuits completed.
Personal music systems
are NOT permitted during the swim or cycle stages. They will however be
permitted on the run stage.
There will be NO SUPPORT VEHICLES ALLOWED ON THE BIKE
